Fake GHD - Is your GHD Original ?

Is your GHD Original ?

Counterfeit GHD
Do not risk injury or a fire by buying counterfeit GHD

They are dangerous and illegal.

Fake GHD – main obvious differences from original GHD

1. mains cable is thick and round, while the Original is flat/oval/softer and ‘obvious’ better quality
2. Once you take the Hinge Screw covers off (careful not to break clips), you will notice a very cheap and small screw on ‘one’ side and a flat ‘usually’ hexagonal aluminium stud on other side
The originals are 2x ~10mm (head width) flat steel Philips/Countersunk threaded screws (same screws on both sides with washers) with brass tubular spacer in the middle and some of the old ones also had a locking washer.
3. General look is ‘cheap’ material, which will burn-up too easily. It could catch fire, while original is very resistant … within limits, as ‘original ones’ safety circuitry will cut-off mains input anyway.
4. If by any chance you opened them, you will see wires are ‘soldered’ and not using screw-on connectors and usually the ‘large yellow’ Capacitor is not present and replaced by a small blue round capacitor.
5. If you have bought one, do not re-sell it, as ‘that’ is illegal too!

6. they also feel light = cheap material

We do not have any Fake/Copy GHD to show you at present, but just search online and you will find a few images to help you out – if in doubt.

The only way to avoid buying fake GHD straighteners is by buying them from a Approved GHD Stockist or second-hand from reputable repairers/re-sellers – we might sell refurbished ones – just ask.

Now you understand how we work.

We are fair and square – shop local !
